Etymology

The word mar-uru can be transliterated as 𒈥𒋽, read as mar-ru, mar-uru, or maru, meaning mighty storm, stormwind, or hurricane in Sumerian[1][2]. Additionally, uru (𒌷) is the Sumerian term for city[3][4], making the location of Mar-Uru have a double meaning, possibly being "storm city" or something along the lines.
