The Emergence is another world in Axiom Verge 2, with a portal found on Kiengir. It was discovered by Drushka's team after being trapped on Kiengir and stealing Elizabeth Hammond's technology.[1] Most of the world is inaccessible, since there is a large barrier separating Indra from the rest of it, which Drushka and two guards are seen behind.
The world bears a great similarity to Sudra, with similar terrain and even two of the same enemies (Red/Blue Snailborgs and Spitbugs), though in a smaller, harmless form. If exposed to the pathogen, they will eventually grow in size and become regular enemies.[2]
Story
When Indra discovers the Emergence, it is after she has lost her body to Amashilama. This brings no shock to Drushka, who says one of the goals of the people in the Emergence is separating mind from body.[3] She explains the barrier is in place since a woman, Amashilama, came in bearing nanotechnology and threats. Drushka and her guards do not seem to take much interest in Indra afterwards, simply allowing her to explore what she can.
Drushka describes the world, and the time valve hidden behind the barrier, as moving slower in time, with other surrounding worlds going faster and enabling those in the Emergence to see evolution on a greater scale.
