Athetos is a human who was able to reach Sudra by passing the Breach from Earth, and acts as the game's primary antagonist. He eventually used a pathogen to wipe out almost all of the Sudrans, along with teaming up with Kraskinki to disable and defeat the retaliating Rusalki so that he could learn and figure out the scientific breakthroughs available from the Breach and Sudra.

Trace is a copy left over from old save data from a save capsule that Athetos originally used to save, and to create copies of himself to transform and act as guardians and warriors, most of which act as the various bosses Trace must battle throughout the game.

Athetos is ultimately located and confronted by Trace, and is subsequently killed by Elsenova, despite Trace's pleas not to kill him. Athetos is seen afterwards in one of the game's endings, in the real world with Trace, where he shoots Trace with a gun while stating, "It's time to wake up, Trace."

Rusalki
The Rusalki are huge war machines created long ago to guard Sudra and the Breach. Ophelia tells Trace that "Rusalki" is Elsenova's word for these beings, implying that there are other words used to describe them. Throughout the game, the player will meet several Rusalki.

List of Rusalki
* Elsenova
* Ophelia
* Kraskinki (the one who sided with Athetos, and Elsenova killed)
* Veruska (the one called The Dreamer, who gives you the Passcode Tool)

Etymology
Pluralization
One Rusalka is a single enitiy. As a group, they are called by the plural form "Rusalki".

Folklore
The term originates in West Slavic folklore, where a Rusalka is a water nymph or female spirit, who gives moisture to crops in the spring. They can sometimes be malevolent spirits and can sometimes leave the water and climb trees.
